Airbag light flashing diagnose instructions .

1 Turn on ignition ( don’t start the car )

2 As soon as the airbag light turns off ( about 7 sec )

3 Turn off the ignition and turn it back on ( with in 1 sec )

4 Repeat the step 3 four to five times.

5 On the 5th time leave the ignition on .

6 The airbag light will turn off and start flashing.

7 The slow flashes are the first number and the fast flashes are the second number.

8 Example if airbag light flashes 1 time slow and 2 times fast that’s code 12 ( as seen in the video )

Diagnose instructions.

1 Find the OBD connector ( on board diagnostic connector ) located on the left side under the dash.

2 Find the number 4 and number 9 pins you can read it on the plug .

3 Pin number 9 is a brown wire and pin 4 is a black wire make sure you have the right pins and wire colors or you will burn a fuse or short something in the car.

4 Get a paper clip and jump the #4 and #9 pins together .

5 Turn on the ignition and the Airbag , ABS , engine lights will blink .

6 Count the blinks .

7 Example if the light blinks slow 5 times and fast 1 time its code 51. (as seen in video )

1 Get in the car leave the drivers door open and unlocked make shore no key in ignition.

2 Put the key in the ignition and take it out twice within 5 sec.

3 Open and close the drivers door twice ( leave it open )

4 Put the key in ignition once and pull it out.

5 Close and open drivers door twice. ( leave the door opened )

6 Put the key in ignition and leave it their and close the drivers door.

7 To program the key turn ignition on 2 times and take the key out.

8 The car will lock and unlock twice now the remote keyless entry system is ready for programing.

9 Push the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for 2 sec and than push lock once.

10 The car will lock and unlock to confirm registration.

11 Open the drivers door and close it.

12 Test how your key less entry works.

This video will show you how to diagnose or troubleshoot and fix your Subaru Legacy Outback speedometer problem on all 1996 , 1997 , 1998 , 1999 .

If your speedometer not working or sometimes work sometimes doesn’t .

Step by step instructions

Remove your speedometer cover and speedometer ( don’t unplug the connectors )

Find the blue connector with the green wire pull on the wire ( as seen in the video )

Test drive the car couple feet frontwards and backwards (make shore the speedometer doesn’t touch the steering wheal so you don’t kill yourself. )

While driving and holding the wire keep an eye on the speedometer if it works.

If the speedometer works stop the car turn off the ignition and take off the speedometer.

Flip the speedometer to the back side and find the blue connector.

Get a small screw and screw it in between the blue connector and speedometer housing make shore the screw is not to long cause if it screws in the speedometer circuit board you will fry your speedometer .

Put the speedometer back in and test drive the car .
