VW  ENGINE CODE.

This video will help you troubleshoot the vw engine codes P0171, P0174, P1136, and P1138.

Before you replace anything such as airflow sensor etc, diagnose the air leak first.

This test takes about 5 min to diagnose.

1 Get a scanner read the vw engine code or codes if you have more than one.

2 If you have these codes.

VW engine code P0171

VW engine code P0174

VW engine code P1136

VW engine code P1138

3 Remove the plastic cover from the air intake and start the car. ( carefully when testing while car running can cause some serious damaged to you )

4 Listen to any air leak in the air intake area.

5 If you cant hear the air leak shut the car off and visually test the air hoses.

6 If you cant find anything you might need to do a leak test with a leak test pump.

7 If you did find the problam get new hoses from the parts store and replace them.

8 Reset your VW engine code.

9 Test drive the car and see if any trouble codes come on again.
